Rules & Information

Open to high school students globally, the first round, the p+q=1, will take place on January 25th, 2025 online. Students will be able to take the exam any time between 12:00 AM and 11:59 PM EST through a proctoring software. p+q=1

The p+q=1 is the first round of our competition, designed to correspond to the difficulty of the USABO Opens exam. The test consists of 50 questions to be completed in 50 minutes. There will be 45 multiple-choice questions and 5 multi-select questions following the style of the USABO.

(p+q)2=1

The (p+q)2=1 is the second round of our competition, designed to correspond to the difficulty of the USABO Semifinals exam. The test consists of 120 questions to be completed in 120 minutes. There will be 60 multiple-choice questions, 30 multiple-true/false or multi-select questions, and 10 short free-response questions.
